Birdman Sues Jay Z & TIDAL For $50 Million Over Lil Wayne's ''Free Weezy Album''

Birdman and Cash Money Records are suing Jay Z and TIDAL, according to TMZ.

The record label is seeking $50 million from TIDAL for streaming Lil Wayne's Free Weezy Album.

The lawsuit says TIDAL's release of the music was "a desperate and illegal attempt to save their struggling streaming service."

The streaming service responds to the claims by saying that Lil Wayne gave it the rights to the music in exchange for an ownership stake in the company.

Cash Money counters by quoting its contract with Lil Wayne, saying he can not license his music to other parties.

Lil Wayne signed with TIDAL last month.
