Fresh off his critically acclaimed mixtape, #NEO, KAi Sky Walker has devised a ground breaking release concept for his latest endeavour, New Mind | Old Soul. Breaking off from the conventional release method, NMOS is designed to keep listeners on edge – eagerly awaiting more, yet completely oblivious as to what is next.
The project has been broken into 9 separate chapters, with each one representing a different type of production and sound. Chapter I, dubbed "Indie Bass", consists of indie vocal samples over heavy bass and 808s, while Chapter II contains much smoother, more melodic production and vocals – labeled "Black Alternative" – a cross between alternative rock & hip hop music. The third chapter, defined as "Trill Trap Trunk", drifts away from the more serious tone of the first two, providing listeners with simplified lyrics and heavy production to prepare them for a night of fun and partying.
The fourth and current chapter is titled "Rap Reborn" and sees Sky Walker rap over 90's hip hop inspired production. Resurrecting samples and flows from legends such as Notorious B.I.G., 2 Pac & Jay Z, New Mind | Old Soul : [Chapter IV] proves to be his best body of work to date.
