Kendrick Lamar & Beyoncé Named Among Most Charitable Celebrities Of 2013

Original Story DoSomething.org has released its annual Top 20 Celebs Gone Good list, and the 2013 edition features music performers Beyoncé, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Kendrick Lamar, and others. Oklahoma City Thunder player Kevin Durant was also named as one of the year’s most charitable celebrities along with Kerry Washington and Breaking Bad‘s Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul.

Country/Pop singer Taylor Swift topped the list followed by British boy band One Direction. Beyoncé came in at number three for her “Chime For Change” charity concert. The late Paul Walker was number four thanks to his work with his natural disasters relief network Reach Out Worldwide.

Breakout duo Macklemore & Ryan Lewis were recognized at number five for their single “Same Love” which the organization says starting “a national conversation and challenged the Hip Hop community (and the rest of the world) to adopt a culture of acceptance.”

TDE emcee Kendrick Lamar (19) was credited for helping raise funds for Superstorm Sandy relief. Part-time rhymer Kevin Durant’s (18) $1 million donation to assist Oklahoma tornado victims led him to be the only professional athlete on the list.

“For the first time, 50 percent of the list is age 30 or younger. This rising generation is using their money and star power for good,” stated DoSomething CMO Naomi Hirabayashi.
