50 Cent and Fat Joe Officially Squash Beef at BET Hip-Hop Awards
Original Story It wasn’t all beef at this year’s BET Hip-Hop Awards in Atlanta.
Despite reported altercations between Rick Ross and Young Jeezy’s crews and a brawl involving Gunplay and 50 Cent’s entourage, beef was squashed at the annual event as well.
50Cent and Fat Joe squashed their longtime beef, as they shared the same stage as part of the tribute to the late Chris Lighty. The Violator Management founder was instrumental in the careers of both ‘Fif and Joe, having helped Joey first break into the business, before guiding 50′s career as his manager.
50 and Joe joined the likes of Busta Rhymes, Q-Tip and Missy Elliott onstage for a tribute to Lighty. Former rivals, 50 and Joe, shook hands on stage, signalling a final end to their tension.
“BET awards were good last night,” 50 tweeted on Sunday (September 30), a day after the taping of the show. “The tribute went good. It’s a must see. @50cent @fatjoe on the same stage. We made it happen.”
The G-Unit general added that “Chris would have wanted Joe there” in a separate tweet. 50 also seemed to suggest that he’d be open to a collaboration between himself and Joe.
50 also seemed to make peace with his longtime friend and fellow G-Unit member, Tony Yayo. Yayo was seen alongside 50, as their crew walked out of the BET Hip-Hop Awards. This past August, 50 talked to XXL about not speaking to Yayo in a while.
The BET Hip-Hop Awards is set to air on October 9.
