Original Story Rapper Wyclef Jean announced the launch of a new company All Handz On Deck during the New Music Seminar, which concluded last night (June 19) in New York.
The company will partner and empower artists, by providing them a structure to connect with fans.
According to Wyclef, the company will focus on artists music, as well as artist development.
Wyclef made the announcement during a panel discussion at New Music Seminar that included Andrew W.K., Chuck D, Tommy Ramone, JD Samson (of MEN/Le Tigre), Hoodie Allen and Garland Jeffreys.
Jason Flom, President of Lava Records, hosted the discussion, which centered around the evolving world of music, media and technology.
“The confluence of so many leaders in both the music and music-related technology space created an energy of optimism and positivity that I haven’t experienced since the mid 80′s,” explained NMS Founder and Executive Director, Tom Silverman, also founder of Tommy Boy Records.
“The music business has been reinvented and is on its way to the next golden age,” Silverman added.
The New Music Seminar took place from June 17-19 in New York City.
A variety of industry players including Sean Parker, Lyor Cohen, Doug Hutcheson of Cricket Communications and others attended NMS 2012, which included workshops, panel discussions and networking events.
