On Saturday, February 18th, popular Nashville radio personality and DJ, Scooby passed away from a pulmonary embolism. Scooby was one half of the “Dolewite and Scooby Show,” a radio program that ran in Nashville for over 10 years and a major figure in the Nashville night life scene. Scooby was born on August 7, 1978 in Detroit, MI and moved to Atlanta at age 6. In 1996, he began attending Georgia Southern University, where he and fellow Oxford Hall dorm-mate Dolewite began the “Dolewite & Scooby Show” in early 1997. The duo took their talents to Nashville in late 2001, where the show became highly rated from 7pm-Midnight on 101.1 The Beat. In November of 2011, they received a promotion and took the show to the afternoon drive slot from 3-7pm. After hearing the news of his passing, Nashville artists Quanie Cash, Starlito, Young Buck, The City Paper, Robin Raynelle, and Stix Izza came together to record “#ForeverScoob,” a track produced by popular Nashville producer Fate Eastwood.
